Daniel Frohman

1851 - 1940

Daniel Frohman was born in Sandusky, Ohio in 1851 and raised alongside his brother Charles. The Frohman brothers moved to New York City and became journalists, advance men, and, finally, prominent producers in the world of New York theater and beyond. Of particular note to Seattle are Charles Frohman's Company and Mr. Daniel Frohman's Lyceum Company, both examples of their national theater syndicates that allowed them to produce touring productions without having to deal with individual theater managers. Frohman died in 1840 at the age of 89 due to complications from a fall.
